Improving Self-Esteem
Learn to build a healthier relationship with yourself through evidence-based skills and exercises.
What is Self-Esteem?
Self-esteem is your overall opinion of yourself — how you feel about your abilities and limitations. When you have healthy self-esteem, you feel good about yourself and see yourself as deserving the respect of others. When you have low self-esteem, you put little value on your opinions and ideas.
Self-esteem grows from a realistic and appreciative awareness of your strengths and positive qualities. Focusing on what you do well can counteract a negative self-view. This exercise helps you build a personal inventory of your strengths.
Example:
A strength can be anything from "being a good listener" or "creative" to "persistent" or "good at making people laugh." They don't have to be grand achievements.
