Addiction & Recovery Skills
Learn practical skills for understanding and addressing substance use.
A Non-Judgmental Approach
This section provides tools based on compassion and evidence. There is no one-size-fits-all path to recovery. These skills are designed to empower you to make the changes that are right for you, at your own pace.
Substance use exists on a spectrum, from beneficial use (like prescribed medication) to chaotic use causing significant harm. Understanding this spectrum can help reduce stigma and identify where you might be on your own journey.
Example:
Beneficial Use -> Casual/Occasional Use -> Habitual Use -> Chaotic/Addictive Use. Someone might have a glass of wine (casual) which becomes a nightly habit (habitual) and then leads to problems at work or home (addictive).
